Rob is a retired law enforcement officer and instructor with more than two decades of Federal experience working in Washington, D.C. He has extensive training and real-world experience in combatives, martial arts and tactics.  He takes pride in his years of preparing officers for the rigors of the job and also training and mentoring martial arts students to help realize their potential.   

Background & Experience

Rob has been in law enforcement for twenty-five years as a uniformed police officer, SWAT operator, instructor, and agent. He has been training and teaching martial arts for more than fifteen years.  He is also an Army Infantry veteran. His teaching experience covers the full range of police-related subjects to include tactics, self-defense skills, and fitness as well as martial arts such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Thai Boxing and MMA. 

Rob earned three martial arts black belts from Evolve Academy of Martial Arts.  He has competed in amateur MMA cage fights and has medaled numerous times in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments to include winning a gold medal in submission grappling at the 2015 World Police and Fire Games.
